- We provide email services through Resend to facilitate user-to-user communication.

We use the following trusted service providers to operate NearbyReads:
- Supabase: Database hosting and user authentication
- Resend: Email delivery services for notifications and user communications
- Vercel: Website hosting and performance optimization
- Google Analytics: Website analytics and usage tracking
- Google Tag Manager: Managing analytics and tracking scripts
These providers have access only to the data necessary to perform their functions and are obligated to maintain confidentiality.
4. Data We Store
- We retain data as needed to facilitate and personalize your use of the Service, combat fraud/abuse, and/or as required by law.
- We make good faith efforts to store data securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices, but can make no guarantees.
- You may access and update certain data about you via your account settings.
- When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal compliance.

We only collect general location data (city/region level), not precise GPS coordinates.
8. Children's Privacy
NearbyReads is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
9. International Users
By accessing NearbyReads or providing us data, you agree we may use and disclose data we collect as described here or as communicated to you, transmit it outside your resident jurisdiction, and store it on servers in the United States.
10. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Secure authentication through Supabase
- Regular security assessments
- Access controls and monitoring
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
